Kanye’s Album Banned by Wal-Mart

Oops he did it again”maybe he wrote that song for Britney? Since the VMA fiasco with Taylor Swift it seems that Kanye West can’t get out of the spotlight”the not so good one that is. Even though he might be a rap genius and has the talent to back it up there’s always controversy not too far behind. The cycle started in 2009 with West storming the stage after Taylor Swift won the VMA for Best Female Video. I think time stopped as he hopped on stage to claim that Beyoncé© deserved to win over Swift. The crowd as well as Beyoncé© was stunned and after that incident things went in a downward spiral for the rapper”and yet again controversy seems to have reared its ugly head.

Kanye’s new album cover My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has been banned in all Wal-Mart stores across the United States since it features some colourful artwork. Although West’s label Def Jam Records hasn’t banned the artwork all together they’ve advised Kanye to rethink his statement and potentially use other material that may not include his twisted fantasy.

So now the moment you’ve all been waiting for, since you’re probably wondering what the album actually looks like. The cover features a painting like image of two reclined figures in a compromising position”it’s obvious why they have grins on their faces. Kanye refers to this piece of ˜artwork’ as chilling on the couch with my phoenix! Some may call it creative genius others call it plain old Kanye.  I for one think this artist loves getting a rise out of his fans and other followers and he’s doing a great job at it”but couldn’t he do that without showing us his extracurricular activities?

In response to all the drama Kanye went his usual route and tweeted his rage to his fans and fellow haters.  In all honesty…I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers. He continues to say that he just wants to sell albums but not at the expense of his creativity.

The tweeting continued with some more explanations as to why his cover isn’t all that bad and West tried to defend his creative genius.

“In the 70s album covers had actual nudity¦It’s so funny that people forget that¦Everything has been so commercialized now,” West went on to say. “I know that cover just blew yall minds¦I wish yall could see how hard I’m smiling right now!!!”

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy arrives in stores November 22”who knows if the replacement artwork will be any tamer?
