There’s no doubt in Gwen Stefani‘s mind when it comes to quitting her solo music career. Stefani has officially called it quits after close to eight years and two albums as a solo artist.
This may not come as a huge surprise, seeing as Stefani hasn’t released any independent material since her album, The Sweet Escape, in 2006. Instead, she has been focused on raising her two sons, Kingston and Zuma, and managing the designs for her L.A.M.B clothing line.
Stefani told Entertainment Weekly that her solo career was really just a moment in time.
She went on to say: It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with whatever you’re at in that time of your life¦[But] everything works out how it should.
Although nothing is officially set in stone, it’s reported that Stefani is excited to get back together with her former band mates from the popular alternative pop-rock group, No Doubt.
The No Doubt front woman decided to branch out from the group a few years ago to start working on her first solo album, Love.Angel.Music.Baby, in 2003.
While fans can get excited for the return of No Doubt, Stefani admits it’ll be a while before a new album is released because her band mates are all busy. But Stefani also promised that she wouldn’t release any more music without the guys.
No Doubt is expected to announce their future plans in a statement on Friday, June 10. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
