Dr. Oz To Unveil New Health Regimen

The promise of a new year is always enticing. And for many of us, the weight loss resolution reappears every year, despite midnight binged failures and foolish expectations.

But if anyone’s fit to help you follow through this year (short of a Jillian Michaels-Batman superhuman hybrid), it’s Dr. Mehmet Oz. And he’s prepared for the task.

Oz has created an 11-week regimen to help viewers follow through with their health-related resolutions. It’s set to air on his show Jan. 3.

A New Year’s resolution is so important, Oz told People. At the end of the day, if you’ve got a game plan that you’ve set yourself up to succeed with, you will follow parts of the plan. Not having one is your biggest mistake.

Oz also shared his tips for tackling five of the most common health-related resolutions. We’ve got a roundup for you here:

1. Get more sleep.

Seven hours of sleep per night is what you want to aim for, says Oz.

2. Lose 10 pounds.

Oz says it’s a huge benefit that is easily attainable, and can cut your risk of having a heart attack or getting arthritis.

3. Work out in the morning.

Oz recommends a seven-minute workout first thing in the morning, be it stretching, running, or a yoga routine, his personal favourite.

4. Have a multivitamin every day.

Eating a great wholesome diet will get you most of what you need, says Oz. Most people don’t.

Which is why a multivitamin is crucial “ to ensure you’re getting the vitamins and minerals you need to keep you going.

5. Make time for friends and family every day.

I’ve decided I need to spend more time with my kids, says Oz. I have precious moments when I can spend time with my kids and share life lessons I think they need to hear.
