If you’re a fan of brightly coloured knits, leopard print ballet flats, sparkly baubles and, in general, all things preppy, you’re in luck because J.Crew has opened its doors for the very first time in Canada.
The iconic American retailer is set to open Thursday, August 18th at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto. Not only is it the first store in Canada, but it’s the first time that the retailer has ventured off US soil.
We’re so excited to be opening our first J.Crew store in Canada. We’re in the process of finalizing the look and feel of the store to be sure it’s the absolute perfect backdrop for our carefully edited collections, said Jenna Lyons, president and executive creative director for J.Crew.
The store is more than 5,000 square feet “ plenty of space for its pretty and preppy pieces. It features women’s-only clothing and accessories, including outerwear, weekend-wear, bags, belts, jewellery and shoes. There’s no men’s yet (or bridesmaid dresses).
Even though it’s never been in Canada before, we’ve seen J.Crew looks everywhere from their inspiring mail-order catalogues to red carpet to the White House. Remember Michelle Obama’s beautifully put-together outfits throughout President Obama’s campaign “ yeah, J.Crew was behind some of that magic. Can’t wait to get shopping!
