Brad Goreski Styles Mark’s

Mark’s Work Warehouse has dropped the Work Warehouse and added a little more style to their collections, launching the brand new Mark’s. We went to the Eaton’s Center in Toronto to see what’s new. The Canadian brand partnered with stylist-to-the-stars Brad Goreski (It’s a Brad, Brad World) to style looks from their men’s and women’s fall collection.

I was raised in Port Perry, Ontario, and I used to shop [at Mark’s] with my dad, Goreski said. I still remember the old jingle.

Mark’s has been the go-to shop for many of our dads, as they are the top retailer of men’s work clothing. But, even though they rank at the top of their category, they wanted to re-brand to bring new customers into their stores.

Mark’s asked me to be involved in the re-branding and I was happy to come on board, Goreski said. What you’ll find in their clothes is innovation. [They took the] amazing things that we come to Mark’s for and integrated them into fashionable items.

The innovation Goreski speaks about is what made Mark’s so popular to begin with. Some examples are their waterproof technology, the warmth of their clothing in the cold Canadian winters, and the quality of the fabric. Now you can have those features in fashionable items.

Brad Goreski’s First Women’s Look

For me this was very much about creating a look that could go from daytime to evening. A lot of us are on the go, we’re city people, and we go from work to events and engagements.  The black pencil skirt is an absolute must-have for me in everybody’s wardrobe, Goreski said. He paired the skirt with an on-trend oxblood ruffled top and a lace cardigan. The cardigan with the lace inserts is one of my favourite pieces. It’s a must-have in every woman’s wardrobe. You could also put it with a t-shirt, jeans and a great coat. And that cute little hat just takes it to the next level; it adds that extra bit of chicness and flair.

One of the big trends this season was a walk in the country, there are a lot of tweeds, plaids and wooly fabrics, Goreski said. We think of casual as something we wear around the home, but it’s actually something you can take outside of your living space, wear it to the office for that extra little bit of warmth and comfiness, or pair it with you favourite skirt, a pair of tights and a great pair of boots and you have a very cute, casual outfit.

Goreski was filming his Bravo reality show, It’s a Brad, Brad World, during his appearance at the Eaton’s Centre and afterward he would hop on a plane back to Los Angeles. He closed the event telling us that he’s never forgotten where he comes from. For me, working with celebrities, working in Los Angeles and New York, I’m always tied back to my Canadian heritage and I’m very pleased to be a part of the rebranding of Mark’s, he said.
