Barre classes are the hottest new fitness trend, promising long lean ballerina bodies. Think Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis’ hot bods in Black Swan. Trying barre has been on my to-do list for months, so when Barre Beautiful invited me to try a class at their new studio, I said YES!
What is it?
Barre is an exercise class that combines ballet, Pilates, strength and flexibility training using the ballet barre. Barre Beautiful’s team spent over a year developing their classes to make sure they are effective for everyone from beginners to advanced members. What’s cool (something I particularly liked) was that they have professionally trained instructors that can give you complimentary postural assessments and provide corrective exercises for you to work on, at home or while you’re at the studio.

How much is it?
Your first class is free! Single sessions are $15-18 depending on the class length. You can also buy a monthly pass for $99.
What are the results?
If you want a “dancer’s body” this is the ideal class to take! Results are not overnight, but if you stick to it, you’ll see a difference in your muscle tone. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who is looking to drop weight fast. Barre is more for those looking for definition and strength.
