Tom Ford has dressed everyone from Rihanna to Gwyneth Paltrow, some of the most famous women in the world. But there is still one person who is hoping to someday see in his designs: Kate Middleton.
“She’s a beautiful woman, she’s smart and I think she’s doing an incredible job… Of course I’d like to dress her," he said during a recent interview, according to Hello! Canada.
Ford says he has been lucky enough to have never had to pay celebrities to wear his designs, and likes to dress those he admires. One of his favourite celebrities to dress is up for an Oscar this weekend.
“Julianne Moore – who I really hope wins the Oscar this year,” he said. “Gwyneth Paltrow, too – we’ve known each other for twenty years, I dressed her back in the mid 90s!”
In 2013, Ford received a big celebrity seal of approval when his name was featured in a Jay Z song.
“When I first saw it performed in a stadium of 60,000 people and my name flashing across this gigantic screen, it was very strange… It made me just want to crawl under a rock. I’m a very, very shy, private person and when you hear an entire audience shouting ‘Tom Ford’, it’s very strange!”
