The New Face of Marc Jacobs Is: CHER

Dreams do come true. Life can be fair. Everything can work out exactly the way it’s supposed to. Or, that’s the way I’m looking at Marc Jacobs’ appointment of Cher as the new face of the brand.

The ad was shared via stylist Katie Grand, and was photographed by David Sims. In it, Cher sits looking amazing/wonderful/god-like, clad in head-to-toe black (with sparkly, striped detail), a leather jacket, and leather gloves. In a word, it is spectacular.

Of course, if you’d been paying attention to the signs (like I was not), you may have thought a collaboration was in the works. Jacobs took the 69-year-old legend as his date to the Met Gala, and dressed her in his own pieces. He also told the New York Times that he was obsessed with her.

“This has been a dream of mine for a very, very long time,” he said. “Other boys were out fascinated by other things. I was like, no, I’d really much rather see what Cher’s wearing this week.”

Marc Jacobs obviously has excellent taste. Cannot wait to rip out this ad and put it on my wall like a teen. (Because, hello: Cher is our universal mother, thank you very much.)
