Stella McCartney is expanding her fashion line by adding an intimates collection. Called Stella, the line will be mid-range, eco-friendly and boasts comfort.
Well-made lingerie is key, McCartney said. It has to fit, function, and do its job first and foremost.
The Stella collection will include five bra shapes — molded underwire, plunge, strapless and seamless. She has also made the line colourful with electric blue, pink, python and a staple black. The pieces are fairly affordable with bras priced at $55 and lace and satin panties at $26.
Feeling constricted in one’s underwear just isn’t my thing; you need to rely on the quality, the designer said.
As an environmental activist, McCartney wanted to make sure the lingerie line was not only luxurious, but also reflected her principals. Each of the bras in the line is made with organic cotton and recycled metal.
The Stella lingerie collection will be available beginning in August both instore and online.
