Glee is continuously growing among its celebrity fans and the newest person to campaign for their own Glee episode is Joey Fatone. After last week’s Britney Spears episode, it seems Joey began to get a tad bit nostalgic for his days of swooning, crooning and hip gyrating during his time with *Nsync.
The former Dancing with the Stars contestant took to his Twitter page to say he wants to be on an episode of Glee, perhaps has a teacher of sorts. After getting replies from his fans, the media blew up the situation and now it seems Joey wants Glee to dedicate an entire episode to him and his former band-mates.
Can you picture Lea Michele belting out “Bye Bye Bye” or Cory Monteith dancing away to “I Want You Back?” Awkward, right?
“I saw the Britney Spears one and I thought it was kind of cool,” Joey told People Magazine. “I said, ‘You know what? They should do an ‘NSYNC one.’ So I mentioned it on Twitter, and everyone is retweeting it and saying, ‘That would be great!'”
As an *Nsync fan back in my day (okay, okay, I still pop in their albums every now and then), I would love to see a Glee episode dedicated to them, but I just don’t see that happening. Although, it would be pretty awesome if Glee did a boy band episode, combining songs from *Nsync, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block and LFO.
What I do see in Glee’s future, is a Justin Timberlake episode. Can you imagine the crew singing “Sexy Back” and “My Love?” I can assure you, hilarity would ensue.
But, I would love the see Joey make some sort of appearance on the show with his own song and dance number. He’s a fun performer, so I think it would be a great match.
