The Canadian version of the popular fashion competition series Project Runway is set to return to screens after more than 15 years off the air. Countrywide casting is now open for season three of Project Runway Canada, which will debut on Crave later this year.
Supermodel Coco Rocha and TV fashion legend Jeanne Beker have been announced as judges for the revival, with Rocha also serving as host.
“So excited to be teaming up with the fabulous Coco Rocha for Project Runway Canada!!” Beker posted on social media.
Season three of Project Runway Canada will consist of 10 episodes, with production set to begin this summer at Toronto Metropolitan University. The revival comes after season 21 of Project Runway got the green light south of the border.
“Canada’s fashion culture and industry deserves to be celebrated, and this is the perfect moment to spotlight homegrown designers,” said Carlyn Klebuc, General Manager, Original Programming, Bell Media. “Project Runway is already an iconic franchise, and we can’t wait to give it a distinctly Canadian twist.”
The reality competition was first adapted for Canadian audiences in 2007 with supermodel Iman as host and last aired in 2009 after just two seasons. Evan Biddell was crowned the winner of season one and won $100,000 to start a line, a portfolio photo shoot with L’Oreal Paris and a spread with Elle Canada magazine featuring the winning model, Ashley Heart. The winner of the second season was Sunny Fong, winning the cover and a feature spread in ELLE Canada with winning model Victoria, a professional portfolio photo shoot courtesy of L’Oréal Paris, a ‘Runway to Retail’ business mentorship with Winners, and $100,000 to start his own fashion line.

The third season of Project Runway Canada is set to debut on Crave later this year. Casting is now open, and designers are invited to apply right here.
