Spice Girl Melanie C married model Chris Dingwall on Saturday, July 18, in a custom wedding gown designed by her close friend and former bandmate, Victoria Beckham.
According to British Vogue, the couple exchanged vows at The Country House, a lakeside property in Cumbria, England. The celebration was actually their second ceremony. Chisholm and Dingwall had already legally married in Dingwall’s native Australia, where the singer wore a dress borrowed straight from Beckham’s own wardrobe.
“I was actually having dinner with Melanie and asked her what she was up to,” Beckham told British Vogue. “She very casually told me she was leaving for Australia in two days and getting married! When I asked what she was wearing, she mentioned she had actually ordered one of my dresses but that it didn’t quite fit, and she didn’t have time to get it altered before leaving. I happened to have that exact dress in my own wardrobe and offered to lend it to her.”
Chisholm had originally ordered the label’s lace-trimmed cami dress but didn’t have time to alter it before flying overseas. Beckham instead loaned her the very same ivory slip dress she had worn to former British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful’s wedding in 2022.
The floor-length design featured a soft V-neckline, a low back, delicate spaghetti straps and lace appliqués cascading across the bust and down one hip — a minimalist, ’90s-inspired silhouette that felt fitting for one of the decade’s defining pop stars.
“There’s just something about her clothes,” Chisholm said of Beckham’s designs. “They have a real simplicity, especially the slip dresses. They’re really feminine, but in a way that feels comfortable, and very me.”
When Beckham later learned the couple would also be celebrating with a larger ceremony in England, she offered to create Chisholm’s wedding gown herself.
“I obviously offered to make her dream dress,” Beckham told Vogue.

For the English celebration, Beckham reimagined the original slip dress with custom-dyed lace hand-stitched across the bodice and skirt. At the request of Chisholm’s 17-year-old daughter, Scarlet, she also added a sweeping train. The bride completed the look with champagne satin Harlow heels and a Dorian clutch from the Victoria Beckham label, carrying a loose bouquet of wildflowers.
Dingwall wore a tailored Zegna suit, while Chisholm later changed into wide-leg champagne trousers paired with a white sports bra for the reception.

Describing the day, Chisholm said she wanted the wedding to feel “quite low-key. Relaxed, romantic and chic.”
She also reflected on why the moment meant so much.
“I wasn’t a girl who grew up dreaming about her dress. I was always just focused on my career — I think even relationships took a backseat for me because I’ve been so driven to do what I love, which is performing… I’d gotten to the point in my life where I just didn’t think it was going to be a part of my story.”
The couple met on the dating app Raya and had their first date in Australia in November 2023. Dingwall proposed during a trip to Mallorca last July.
