Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are once again expanding their fashion empire by becoming the creative heads of Superga North America, an Italian tennis footwear company that is making its way into high-end fashion.
As part of their partnership with Superga, the 25-year-old fashionistas will be launching a co-branded luxury line with the footwear company and their own fashion company, The Row. The line has an expected release of Spring/Summer 2012.
We are excited to celebrate Superga’s 100th birthday with the re-introduction of this beloved Italian footwear brand to the USA, Ashley said in a statement. We hope to introduce a fresh perspective to this iconic collection, while honoring Superga’s legacy of timeless design.
“Superga is really a luxurious brand,” Mary Kate added. “We are really hoping to bring it back to its roots.”
The Olsens’ role with Superga will also include getting the Converse competition into high-end department stores and on the right feet.
The North American Superga is actually licensed by Steve Madden, who already works with Mary Kate and Ashley on footwear for their Elizabeth and James line.
