Now she is set to set another online milestone by being the first artist to release tracks from her new album, Born This Way via the online game FarmVille. Yes, you read that correctly, FarmVille “ as in the online world where you create and maintain a farm.
Lady Gaga’s little monsters, aka her fans, will have the chance to preview her songs before the album is released on May 23rd.
She said: I want to celebrate and share Born This Way with my little monsters in a special way that’s never been done before¦ Zynga has created a magical place in FarmVille where my fans can come play and be the first to listen to the album.
All her fans have to do is log onto the website and enter GagaVille. Lady Gaga and Zynga Inc., the creators of FarmVille, have teamed up to create this world featuring themes from Gaga’s album “ from crystals, to unicorns, to motorcycles. Between May 17th and the 19th, Gaga’s monsters can compete in different tasks to unlock the chance to stream some of her songs.
It’s the first time any artist has teamed up with FarmVille to release an album and create their own world to do it in. Leave it to Gaga to think of something new!
Zynga Inc. is also giving away a free download of the entire album to the little monsters who buy a $25 game card through Best Buy Co. Inc. Once they’ve done so, the buyers will also be entered in a draw to attend Lady Gaga’s next video shoot, as well as a virtual unicorn to beautify their farms in GagaVille.
As if that wasn’t enough, the company is also offering virtual Lady Gaga goods to players who earn points in other Zynga Inc. games. Players will also have the chance to win concert tickets and autographed albums.
