Forbes Magazine has just named Lady Gaga as the Most Powerful Female Celebrity
Forbes released their annual top 100 list of powerful women yesterday and while the list is usually full of politicians and businesswomen, every now and then we see a few celebrity names. Lady Gaga took the #11 spot, while Oprah came in at #14 and Beyonce at #18.
Not only is Momma Monster the top celebrity, she is also the youngest entry in this year’s list at 25-years-old.
The list takes earnings into account (Gaga earned $90 million this past year), but they also look at social media influence and endorsements.
“In July, Gaga (born Stefanie Germanotta) became the first Twitter user to reach 12 million followers, trumping teen dream Justin Bieber and President Obama, Forbes wrote. Her Facebook page has 36 million fans. Beyonce has called her ˜the most talented pop star.’ In the past three months she has begun promotional deals with Google, Zynga and Gilt and is a not-so-silent financial backer in Backplane, a Silicon Valley start-up founded by her longtime manager Troy Carter.
The Forbes Most Powerful Women list also included: Angelina Jolie (#29), Diane Sawyer (#47), Queen Elizabeth II (#49), Ellen DeGeneres (#55), Gisele Bé¼ndchen (#60), Anna Wintour (#69), J.K. Rowling (#61) and Ann Curry (#66).
You can check out the Most Influential Female Celebrity at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday where she will be performing.
