Jessica Simpson is expanding her reality television horizons. The singer, turned actress, turned reality television star will appear as a mentor in the new NBC reality show called Fashion Star, according to E! News.
Simpson will join supermodel, Elle Macpherson, who will be hosting the show. Simpson will reportedly mentor the contestants, who will be vying to win a multi-million dollar contract in order to launch their own brands in three large American retailers.
The show will be taped in front of a live audience, and viewers from around the world will have the chance to buy the winning designs after each week’s competition.
Sounds like a lot of pressure, but with Simpson’s extensive experience, the contestants are sure in for a treat.
Jessica Simpson’s brand is expected to make $1 billion. Her clothing empire is predicted to be the first celebrity fashion line to earn that kind of money, so she obviously is a good fit for the position.
The network is said to be very excited to work with the talented star.

The born and raised Texan launched her Jessica Simpson Collection in 2007 and works closely with her mom, Tina, who’s the co-creative director of the empire.
Aside from the reality project she’s working on and her current line, Simpson is teaming up with her younger sister, Ashlee, to launch a tween clothing line for girls aged seven to 16. The line is going to include sportswear, denim, and activewear and will be available in stores this fall.
Aside from that, she’s also set to tie the knot with former NFL player, Eric Johnson.
