Gwyneth Paltrow has partnered up with Blo Blow Dry Bar, alongside celebrity stylist David Babaii. For those who don't know, Blo is a North American company that focuses only on blow-drying hair, and stays away from other hair services like cuts and colour. It is unclear what Paltrow's actual role will be with the franchise, but it seems as though she will be helping out on the business end (while also lending her super famous name to the company).
"Blo is thrilled to align with Gwyneth Paltrow, one of the world's most recognized actresses," Blo said in a statement. "Gwyneth's keen business instinct for the latest and hottest trends and her emphasis on high quality customer experience makes this an idea collaboration."
Babaii, who has been named "The King of Curls" by Vogue magazine, is well known for his red carpet looks. He will be using his expertise to introduce new blow-drying techniques to Blo.
"I cannot wait to grow Blo with Gwyneth and David. They are the perfect fit for our company," said Ari Yakobson, Blo's CEO. "This combination and a proven business model is exciting. This is a tremendous benefit for our current and future franchise partners; our loyal guests are going to love this collaboration."
Paltrow and Babaii actually have a bit of experience of their own with blow dry bars. The pair previously teamed up for a members-only bar in Los Angeles with celebrity trainer Tracey Anderson.
"I am just so excited and so is Gwyneth,” Babaii told People magazine. “I get to work with someone that’s been my dear friend and inspiration for so many years. How much better can it get? Gwyneth is so smart and cool and we work so well together. We’ve been friends for 12 years, and she’s been such a support to me with everything. When we opened our first blow dry bar with Tracy Anderson, it was for members only, but there was overwhelming demand.”
