There are collaborations that come along that honestly make you question anything and everything you hold dear, and then there are collaborations like Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney's that actually make the most sense in the world.
According to WWD, the duo are teaming up to create a capsule collection for Paltrow's (in)famous Goop website, that will feature "investment pieces" designed by McCartney and curated by the actress.
"I think of myself as a woman who is a lover of beautiful things," said Paltrow. "I'm very specific about my taste. The role I want in a partnership is curating a collection as opposed to taking a designer point of view. I can tweak a blazer and make it the perfect blazer. It's being able to fulfill what my ideal things ought to be."
As for Ms. McCartney, she cites Paltrow as an inspiration in terms of designing this time around.
"I have quite a lot of admiration for her at so many levels, and that's a big part of how I design," she revealed. "Her spirit and inner beauty as well as outer beauty are a big inspiration for me. I draw from that every day from all my friends."
Well that's what friends are for! (Right? Like, that's how the song goes, I'm pretty sure.)
So far, the collection includes a black blazer, black jeans, black wool trousers, and a variety of handbags, and will sit on the Goop Collection part of the website, which is available to members. Are you guys planning to run out (or open a new Internet window) and sign up? After all, past Goop Collections included the likes of Cynthia Rowley and Rag & Bone, so designer collaborations seem to be the new Goop thing.
