The Selena MAC Line is Almost Here

The sooner summer can get the hell out of my face, the better life will be for all of us. First, because I hate warm weather. (Cannot and will not stress this enough.) Second, because all the good movies are coming out in November. Lastly, because Selena for MAC will finally be here.

Finally. Finally. I’m finally Rose from Titanic in that I’ve been waiting 84 years, but finally. We get a lipstick.

As a preview. There are more, I promise. (Could you imagine? “Hey guys! Sorry it took six years, but here you go! A lipstick!”) No.

So far, the brand has sent out a shot of one deep red lipstick that also defined the late singer’s aesthetic. It’s called “Como La Flor” (YES LIKE THE SONG) and has inspired us all to listen to the entire Selena discography on repeat until summer’s cruel grip has lessened.

“I wanted the colours to be about her personality, what she wore on and offstage,” said Suzie Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, in a statement. “She has been gone for 21 years already, and for this collaboration to happen, it’s pretty much incredible.”

“It just shows the love for her fan base has even though she’s gone,” she continued. “That her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she’s passed. It’s a great honour to have MAC collaborate with Selena’s name and her fans”FOR her fans.”

Quintanilla has been working with MAC to ensure this line is top notch (yay!) which may also explain why it’s taken a year for us to get this sneak peek. Quality over quantity, people”which I don’t think anyone’s going to have a cry about, especially since the lipstick looks fantastic.

But that’s all we know. Seriously: it’ll be a multi-piece deco collection and that’s all the information anybody has to give. What is this? Why is this? MAC if you can read this, you can tell me just me and I won’t say a thing, I promise. (Don’t answer yet, either”think about it.)

Because, as mentioned, it’s been 84 years. And I’m here for it like it was just announced yesterday.
