Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to Four Months in Jail

The actress also ordered 480 community service hours

Lindsay Lohan will get a break from the media circus that’s been surrounding her bizarre jewelry theft trial “ just maybe not the kind she imagined.

Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail yesterday for violating her probation from a 2007 DUI arrest. She was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service, but her heavily-reported grant theft case was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanour.

Lohan was allowed bail once the charge was reduced, which was posted at $75,000.

But Judge Stephanie Sautner didn’t let Lohan off too easy.

Would a person with any brains walk out with a necklace with [security] cameras on? Judge Sautner said. Maybe it’s brazenness, stupidity “ I don’t know what. Perhaps it was a desire to hide in plain sight.

The judge also ordered with meaningful purpose where Lohan would fulfill her 480 community service hours.

Lohan will serve 360 hours at the Downtown Women’s Center.

Then she will see how truly needy women have to live and that might change her, Judge Sautner said.

The other 120 hours will be spent at the L.A. County Morgue to see what happens when people drink and drive.

Lohan was accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie & Co. on Jan. 22. Sofie Kaman, the owner of the store, testified yesterday that Lohan had looked at items the week of Jan. 22 but never bought anything and stole the necklace.

Lohan was sent to Los Angeles’s Lynwood Jail, but according to a sheriff rep will be released in the very near future.
