Mariah Carey and MAC Join Forces (Again)

Written by Anne T. Donahue

When we pray to Mariah Carey, she listens (or at least that’s what I’ll take from playing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” all day, every day, for the last 20 years). Which explains why next month, she’ll join forces with MAC again to bring us MAC Mariah Carey — a makeup collection designed to reflect Songbird Supreme. (MAC’s words and also mine. And also probably Mariah’s, TBH.)

The collection consists of a million (or 21) pieces, and because I care about you and who you are as a person, I’m going to lay them all out for you here:

  • 6 x Lipstick ($24 each)
  • 5 x Lipglass ($23 each)
  • 2 x Lip pencil ($26 each)
  • 2 x Four-colour eye shadow palette ($44 each)
  • Liquid eyeliner ($26)
  • 2 x Lashes ($22)
  • Skinfinish Bronzer ($53)
  • 2 x Powder blush ($29)
  • Loose powder ($46)
  • 2 x Brush ($34)

So there’s that. The collection drops online on December 8, and in store on December 15 — which is five days after I’ll have begun camping outside the store because goddamn it, I need some joy in my life — and will be available in stores through January 26, 2017.

So far, Ms. Mariah has yet to make a statement on the collection or the products or about anything, but also she doesn’t really need to because she’s Mariah Carey and we owe her way more than she owes us. (Even though some of us really thought she’d get a phone call when Mariah was in town two weeks ago, but okay I guess she was busy, it’s fine, sometimes friendship doesn’t always look the way you think it will.) Anyway, let’s end on a high note: all I want for Christmas is this. All of this. I want all the pieces, and I trust all of you will deliver them to me.

That’s how this all works, right? Why else are any of us here?
