Marc Jacobs is about to make his film debut. The fashion designer stars with Jason Bateman, Alexander Skarsgard, Paula Patton and Andrea Riseborough in Disconnect.
The movie is a suspenseful thriller about a group of people who are forced to deal with the negative sides of the digital age — a teen getting bullied, credit card accounts being closed and personal information being exposed. It is unclear exactly how Jacobs’ role fits in with the film, but he is honored with the trailer’s memorable closing line.
Trust no one, only me, he says.
In Disconnect, Jacobs plays what is being described as a porn baron, who controls an online chat prostitution ring.
Jacobs says the film does not signify a change of career direction, but he simply wanted to be able to say he did it.
I enjoyed saying I did it and I enjoyed parts of doing it, but you know, it’s not ever been my dream to act or anything like that, he said. It’s probably the last time I’ll ever do it.’
Disconnect is scheduled to hit theaters in April. Check out the trailer below!
