Top Trends from the SAG Awards Red Carpet

When actors choose their award season red carpet looks, the SAGs are reserved for the gowns that just didn’t make that Oscar cut. But, if last night was any indication of how award season fashion will go, the bar has been set high. Here are some of our favourite looks from last night’s 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Modern Black

Rosamund Pike (Christian Dior haute couture), Emma Stone (Dior couture) and Julia Roberts (Givenchy) were our favourite looks of the night. Each of these women took risks, bringing the red carpet into 2015 with true style.

Emerald Green

Green is the perfect contrast to the red carpet, instantly drawing our eyes to these three fabulous ladies. Julianne Moore (Givenchy couture), Claire Danes (Marc Jacobs) and Patricia Arquette (Vivienne Westwood) were stunners in emerald green.

Pretty in Purple

Both mom-to-be Keira Knightley (Erdem) and mom Camilla Alves (Donna Karan Atelier) chose a striking shade of purple on the red carpet.

Primary Colours

When it doubt, go for primary pops of colour like Juliana Marguilies (Giambattista Valli couture), Uzo Aduba (Angel Sanchez), Gwendoline Christie (Giles) all did on the red carpet. You are guaranteed to pop!

Winter Whites

It takes a lot of guts and a rockin’ bod to wear white at a red carpet event. Reese Witherspoon (Giorgio Armani), Ariel Winter, and Laura Carmichael (Vionette) were just a few who were brave enough to wear crisp whites at the SAGs.

A sure way to stand out on the red carpet is to sparkle, literally. Amy Poehler (Jenny Packham), Emmy Rossum (Armani Privé©), Sarah Hyland (Vera Wang) know what we’re talking about!

Power Couples

George and Amal were nowhere in sight, which gave these couples a chance to shine and boy, did they ever! Naomi Watts (Balenciaga) and Liev Schreiber, and Jennifer Anniston (John Galliano) and Justin Theroux.
