First, we get Tilda Swinton being alive. Then, she appears in David Bowie’s latest music video (that was released yesterday). And now, she’s fronting a Chanel campaign.
It’s official: Tilda Swinton’s nickname is now, “Get it, girl.”
According to Vogue UK, the actress was revealed as the face of Chanel’s Metiers d’Art Paris-Edimbourg collection at a show in December, and the photos will be released as part of the collection’s campaign in May.
“Tilda perfectly emobdies the Paris-Edimbourg collection,” said Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld. “She is of course Scottish, but more than that, she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.”
Correct, Karl. Evidently, a spokesperson says Tilda was chosen for her “unique personality, charisma, and allure.” Well any of us Tilda fans — or followers of her unofficial Twitter account — could’ve told you that.
