Sarah Jessica Parker once played a lady known for her amazing shoe collection, but the actress says she might have to say goodbye to her high-heeled beauties. Parker revealed wearing cheaper shoes while filming her 2011 film, I Don’t Know How She Does It, caused a bit of damanage to her feet.
So I got shoes from [Nine West] and the bottom of the shoes aren’t leather, they are plastic, so I slipped a couple times and twisted my ankle, Parker said. I went to a foot doctor and he said, ˜Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there — you’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there.’
Parker is used to wearing footwear us normal folk dream about — red soled Christian Louboutins and Manolo Blahniks.
She also talked about her behind-the-scenes role on Sex and the City, and says she helped pave the way for Lena Dunham and Girls.
HBO was very encouraging of the beyond-camera role I played and I feel that had we not done, it, I don’t know that would have existed for Girls, she said. It’s such a different way of thinking and it’s not conventional… I do feel Sex and the City‘s success made that possible, and it would have been different otherwise.
Do you think Sex and the City paved the way for edgier female-centric shows?
