Marie Osmond’s Son Commits Suicide

LAPD have confirmed Marie Osmond’s 18-year old son Michael Blosil leapt to his death on Friday night.

Blosil, a student at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, had a long history of depression. In 2007 he checked into rehab for undisclosed reasons, but Osmond said her son had turned things around since then.

She had told People Magazine, “I couldn’t be more proud of him¦He’s got a 3.9 GPA in high school. He’s looking at scholarships to some wonderful colleges.”

Blosil’s roommates said he was sober at the time of his death, and weren’t even aware he had jumped until they heard sirens approaching.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the call, finding Blosil dead on impact after he jumped from his 15-story apartment building. According to Fire Department spokesperson Shawn Lenske, Blosil fell over 30 feet.

He reportedly left a note for his friends chronicling his unhappiness.

Osmond released a brief statement Saturday, which simply read,  “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.

Osmond is currently performing in a Vegas engagement with her brother Donny. The show has been cancelled until further notice.
