Lily Allen “Quitting” Music

BRIT Award winner Lily Allen has announced her retirement from music, to concentrate on her vintage fashion venture.

Allen plans to launch a shop named ˜Lucy in Disguise’, which will offer vintage attire to both rent and sell. The project will be co-piloted by her half-sister sister Sarah Owen, and will launch at the Vintage at Goodwood festival.

Lily’s no stranger to fashion. She designed Lily Loves for New Look back in 2007, and was cast as the face of Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld. Fashion is now what I’m doing “ it’s a whole new adventure for me she says.

So we know Lily’s had experience on the fashion forefront, but why venture back to vintage?

The thing I love about vintage is that it’s all incredibly well made, like Chanel “ it lasts forever. Hopefully, Lucy in Disguise will be an education as well, teaching customers there’s something other than mass-produced rubbish she explains.

And if her music is anything to go by, Lily doesn’t bother with ˜mass-produced rubbish’. Her unique albums are the feisty, cute pop that the charts have been missing. Let’s hope that similarly her fashion contributions will fill the void of naughty and nice. But something tells me between feuds with Amy Winehouse, Cheryl Cole and most recently Courtney Love under her belt, we won’t go long between Lily Allen headlines. Fashion-related or not.
