Keira Knightley Describes Chanel Campaign as “Frightening”

If you’re still celebrating the recent announcement that Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel Mademoiselle handbags, you may have forgotten a certain Keira Knightley is also among the label’s ranks.

A spokesmodel for Chanel Mademoiselle perfume, the actress recently opened up about her experience, describing it as “frightening” before elaborating on her recent shoot in Paris: “With the first [campaign], I think we were all a bit worried because we didn’t know if it was going to sell well, and it was [the idea of] taking over this enormous thing.”

Luckily for Keira, anything Chanel touches turns to gold, so this time around, it’s safe to assume there’s a little less fear: “It’s brilliant. Because we went in with the same team, and we had a really lovely time.” (I’m sure they did. Photographs and handbags and Chanel is definitely the recipe for “a day slightly better than one spent sitting in a cubicle from nine to five”. Not that we’re jealous or anything.)

In the same interview, Keira also confessed she’s not into the red carpet scene, saying “it’s nice to have an occasion to wear a silly frock and get dolled up, but I’m really not that sort of person”, while also describing her own style as “scruffy”.

And while we’d love to believe that the Never Let Me Go star is more likely to don sweat pants and pyjama jeans than designer gowns, there’s something about that image that doesn’t seem right. (After all, you don’t get handpicked for Chanel for no reason.)
