Karl Lagerfeld is getting back to the cinema side of things. In honour of the 100th anniversary of the first Chanel boutique, Uncle Karl direct a film about Coco Chanel’s life — starring Keira Knightley.
Considering Keira’s actually the face of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume, this isn’t really surprising (but what is, is that this isn’t a Joe Wright-directed film, since Ms. Knightley is usually attached to those).
While this won’t be like Tom Ford’s “A Single Man” from a few years back, Lagerfeld’s biopic will at least be aesthetically pleasing, thanks to eye for fashion and beauty, and thanks to Keira’s co-stars, Stella Tennant, Tallulah Harlech, Caroline De Maigret, Brad Kroenig, and his son. It also won’t be released to the masses — at least not right away. The film will debut in early May during Chanel’s cruise collection show in Singapore, so if you’re that into the idea, start saving for a ticket now.
