The last thing Hollywood moms seem to want is to gain the inevitable baby weight, so to prevent making the wrong kind of headlines (we can only assume), Jessica Simpson is in talks to sign a $4 million deal with Weight Watchers post-delivery.
According to Us Weekly, the 31-year-old mother-to-be had “initially intended to sign with the company to lose weight she had gained over the past few years”, but then came the pregnancy with fiancee Eric Johnson, which, according to a source, “was the perfect compromise.”
The source also details that under the contract, the singer will have a year to lose “a significant amount of weight” through the program’s point-counting system. Afterwards, she’ll unveil her progress through ads – just like current Weight Watchers spokesperson, Jennifer Hudson.
However, Jessica’s the last star on earth that seems to be particularly phased by her weight gain. In a recent interview with Us, the former Newlyweds star revealed that she was “bigger than [she’s] ever been” but that she “wants to show off her bump”.
And as she should! Considering Ms. Simpson is far from fat, we should celebrate her curves and the fact that she wants to get healthy – in a healthy way. Now here’s hoping she doesn’t go overboard with the dieting – she’s got a baby to take care of, and a figure most of us would be happy to have.
