Gwyneth Paltrow On Tom Ford Dress

Last week we sang the praises of Gwyneth Paltrow’s crisp Tom Ford Oscar gown, and just in time for us to remember, she finally opened up about it.

“I tried on the dress,” she said in an interview with The Chew. “That was the dress, and I thought, ‘it’s a little different, but it’s sort of a throwback.’ I saw a pic of Jackie O in a white dress with a cape and it’s been a while since anyone’s worn a cape, frankly, except for Superman.”

And a fashion hero Gwyneth Paltrow became. Ranking on almost every Best Dressed list (including our own), the actress arguably stole the fashion show despite only presenting during the telecast.

However, we can thank Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, for helping her make a red carpet mark.

“My daughter loves a fashion moment,” Gwyneth said of her seven-year-old. “She weighs in very heavily.”

Almost as heavy as Gwyneth Paltrow does, we can imagine, since the designer Tom Ford lifted his rule of not putting dresses on show until they are available in stores. The sleek white cown and cape was first seen in a preview of his F/W 2013 collection.

Everybody in capes!
