Marc Jacobs has a new scent on the market and he has chosen Dakota Fanning as its spokesperson. The fragrance, Oh, Lola!, was launched earlier this week and the 17-year-old played hostess at the official launch party, which took place at Mark Jacobs’ store in New York City.
“I don’t leave the house without a Marc Jacobs fragrance on and now that is Oh, Lola!,” Fanning said. “Honestly, that’s pretty much all I do. I wash my face and put on perfume.”
Jacobs says he knew right away that Fanning has the perfect face for Oh, Lola!.
I’ve been a big fan of Dakota since the first time I saw her in a movie, and we made her a wardrobe in her size when she was 12, which was pretty incredible, Jacobs said. When we were speaking about who to use in the Oh, Lola! fragrance ads I had recently seen The Runaways. Dakota was in it, and I knew she could be this contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet, he added.
As the face of the fragrance, Fanning is featured in ad campaigns for Oh, Lola!, which was shot by Juergen Teller. The actress revealed that she had no idea what the perfume would be like before she arrived on set for her shoot.
“I remember I didn’t know what the bottle looked like or what the perfume smell liked. You hope it smells good,” said Fanning. “And so I got there and it smelled exactly like I’d imagine and it’s pink, which is my favourite colour!”
Oh, Lola! has hints of raspberry, pear, magnolia, frais des bois and vanilla. On the sweeter side, Jacobs refers to his new fragrance as the little sister to his Lola perfume. Available in three different Eau de Toilette sizes, Oh, Lola! was created by Ann Gottlieb, Calice Becker and Yann Vasnier.
