The past couple of months have been big for Bruce Jenner. In April he opened up to Diane Sawyer in a 20/20 interview about his transgenderism. In May he revealed the intimate conversations with his family on a Keeping Up With The Kardashians special. And even though it’s only been about six weeks since he first went public, his transition into a woman has already been met with success.
Caitlyn Jenner has graced the July cover of Vanity Fair in a simple white corset looking absolutely stunning. The photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz reveals a relaxed and happy new woman, ready to say farewell to her old identity and embrace her femininity from the inside out.
Caitlyn sat down with Buzz Bissinger to explain her new identity in the upcoming issue set to hit newsstands on June 9. Her combination of confidence and relief is unmistakable as she told the magazine, If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ˜You just blew your entire life.'”
Considering how successful her life has been thus far, this process has definitely been hugely important for Jenner to feel as though her life has been fulfilling. The 65-year-old former Olympian has demonstrated nothing but courage and grace since her coming out and it is truly impressive and admirable. She shows that it’s never too late to get what you want out of life.
And of course, I especially love the name she picked out. Being named Caitlin myself, I know that she will thoroughly enjoy her newfound identity. It’s also an especially good move on her part to choose to spell her name with a C instead of a K, likely to differentiate herself from her surrounding of several famous K-named women. In this one small detail, she shows herself as a strong independent woman.
We can’t wait to meet and get to know this beautiful new woman who is sure to bring a lot of positive influence for the LGBT community. Though she has undergone so much struggle and even moments of weakness and doubt throughout her transition, it seems that Caitlyn Jenner has a lot of happy years ahead of her.
