After her financial problems earlier this year, Betsey Johnson is staging a comeback.
An “affordable” dress collection is slated for release in boutiques and department stores in spring 2013, and these “solid and printed, sexy, flowing dresses” will go for $99 to $249.
This marks a much-needed new direction for Betsey Johnson who filed for bankruptcy protection in April. But like before, The Levy Group will still produce Betsey Johnson’s designs, and The Levy Group’s Design Director Suzi Chin will collaborate with Betsey Johnson herself.
“We are [pleased] to be working with Betsey on her new dress collection,” said The Levy Group president, Donald Levy. “It was a natural progression to continue into another category.”
Betsey’s bright colours and bold prints seem like a perfect answer to spring dresses come spring, so here’s hoping this marks the end of the designer’s financial rough patch.
