After seven years and six kids together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are finally taking the plunge and getting married
Yes, it’s confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids, Pitt’s manager confirmed. There’s no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring.”
Jolie was first seen sporting her new bling earlier this week at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Chinese Galleries. A rep for jeweller Robert Procop confirmed that it was in fact an engagement ring.
I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt.
Apparently Pitt’s design was so intricate, it took an entire year to complete the ring.
Throughout, Brad Pitt remained heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design process from the perfect cut of the diamond centrepiece — an elongated tablet shape — to the finishing touches such as the mounting of a galaxy of smaller stones which are graduated in size and faceted to match adding a crowning lustre to the ring.
Jolie and Pitt have previously said they would only marry if there was marriage equality across the United States. However, in more recent interviews, Pitt revealed that marriage may be on the couple’s horizon because an official union between the two has become more important to their children.
We’d actually like to [get married], Pitt said. And it seems to mean more and more to our kids.
This will be the second marriage for Pitt, who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston for five years, and the third marriage for Jolie who has been married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
