Product Of The Week: Evio Beauty Hemp & Peppermint Lip Serum in “Did I Make Myself Clear”

We like to be thoughtful about the things we put in and on our body. So, rubbing on a layer of Evio Beauty’s clear-hued Hemp & Peppermint Lip Serum in “Did I Make Myself Clear,” felt like a no brainer. Come on, with the words “Impact-Led Clean Beauty” literally typed on black in white on the lip balm’s outer packaging, the vegan Canadian brand has already done the thinking for us.

The lippie works. Purposefully filled with healing hemp seed oil and soothing peppermint essential oil, it smooths, softens, hydrates, refreshes and protects our lips. It’s also absent of the ever-expanding “Dirty Dozen” list too, so there’s not a hint of parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, sodium laureth sulfates, triclosan, formaldehyde, formaldehyde releasing agents or hydroquinone. And our favourite ingredient-based fact, no animals were tested to create its formulation.

But there another reason we’re enamored with the product. Evio Beauty is steeped in female empowerment. It’s founder, Brandi Leifso, conceptualized and built her makeup business while living in a women’s shelter in Vancouver and Evio was her response to adversity, a commitment she made to herself and in support of other survivors of domestic abuse. The “Did I Make Myself Clear” cause-based collection of products, inclusive of the lip serum, have been specifically crafted to support the, which is focused on building wealth and financial security for survivors of intimate partner violence—all while healing individuals, their intergenerational families and their communities to create effective change. Pretty impressive for a lip balm, right?! You can see why we’re swiping it on.
