We like to do our shopping on the couch, in sweats, in front of our computer screen. Unfortunately for Canadians, a lot of e-commerce websites don’t offer shipping to our home and native land. And a lot of home-grown brands haven’t quite jumped on the online shop bandwagon just yet. But, there seems to be a shift with several retailers this month, right in time for the holidays, announcing they will offer e-commerce to Canadians.
Here are a few items we’ll be putting in our virtual shopping cart.
Target
After Target Canada closed their doors this past spring, we were all dreading the idea of having to drive across the border to pick up our favourite brands and putting up with the duties and currency rate all over again. Luckily, Target.com just announced they are now offering shipping to Canada!
What to order:
Threshold copper and marble accent table, $63.99 USD
Target Signature sweet spun sugar soy candle, $10 USD
Holt Renfrew
On November 3, Holt Renfrew launched their new website which allows you to now purchase their cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance products online. This is great for re-stocking up on your favourite designer nail polishes, and perfumes, as Holt Renfrew stores aren’t at every mall. The Holt Renfrew e-commerce store offers products from your favourite luxury brands, as well as two new online magazines Holts Muse, and Holts Men to get all of your inspiration from while making your purchases.

Nike
Canadian customers of the active wear brand got an email in June telling them that those who lived north of the border would soon be able to shop online. As of last week, Canadian Nike addicts can now order their running shoes using the convenience of the online store. Canadians can also order NIKEid products, that allow them to become the designer and customize apparel to suit their needs and vision. So whether you wear it for performance, or for comfort, you can get your favourite new Nike looks, shipped straight to your door.

Nordstrom
While the American retail giant (seriously, have you seen the size of a Nordstrom recently?) has been shipping to Canada for a while, they have started opening up Canadian Nordstrom stores in Vancouver, and Ottawa with more planned to open in the coming two years in Toronto. As far as shopping online goes, Nordstrom provides Canadian customers with prices in Canadian dollars, as well as offering low international shipping rates. Nordstrom also offers many designer pieces in plus and petite sizing, which is sometimes hard to find in regular stores.
