When TIFF comes to town, Toronto turns into a playground for Hollywood’s A-List. Restaurants, hotels and bars roll out the red carpet, allowing the celebs to let their hair down after long days promoting their new films. Another way they relax is at the lounges, where brands treat them to spa treatments and shower them with swag.
We checked out some of the best lounges to experience TIFF like an A-lister:
TIFF 2013 Essentials Lounge (Hosted by EGPR at Templar Hotel)
Services at the Essentials Lounge included eyelash extensions by Winks Eyelash Boutique (see me having mine applied in the image above), makeup application by Hard Candy Cosmetics, massages from Aveda and spa treatments by Elizabeth Grant Skin Care. HP was on hand to snap professional head shots, while MicroPedi ensured our feet were red carpet ready. Celebrities and media received swag bags filled with goodies, including an HP Slate 7, Nike+ Fuel Band, Sorel slippers, Calvin Klein undergarments, the Aveda Invati line, Ethical Bean coffee and many more goodies.
IT Lounge (Hosted by NKPR)
We spotted celebs like Adrien Brody, Paul Haggis and The Bachelor's Brad Smith checking out what IT Lounge has to offer. The stars could get their eyebrows plucked to perfection by Tweezerman, makeup by AVON, grab a bite of Barilla pasta, snack on some Cold Stone Creamery ice cream bars and sip on David's Tea. Swag bags included Roots, AquaHydrate, Colgate and more. Plus, the talented Caitlin Cronenberg was on hand to take portraits of everyone who stopped by.
Tastemakers Lounge (Hosted by Rock-It Promo at the Intercontinental Hotel)
We visited the “original” lounge, Tastemakers to see what they had in store for their celebrity attendees. Gift bags this year included handcrafted wood and fibreglass accessories by Alto Collective, caffeinated chocolate treats by AWAKE Chocolate, water bottles by bobble, books from Penguin Canada, popchips, eco-conscious home products from Seventh Generation and more, all inside Jessica Jensen limited edition totes courtesy of VISA. Spotted at the lounge: Daniel Radcliffe, Anton Yelchin Colin Mochrie, Georgina Reilly, Marilyn Denis, reality stars from The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad Michael Stagliano, Ed Swiderski, Kiptyn Locke, and Arie Luyendyk Jr.
(Is it just me or are there A LOT of dudes at these lounges?!)
TIFF 2013 Variety Studio by Moroccanoil At Holt Renfrew
This lounge was by far the most star-studded of the week! Celebrities from TIFF’s top premiering films experienced hand massages from Moroccanoil, as well as hair touch-ups before their interviews and portraits. Some of the star sightings include Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde, Susan Sarandon, Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Chastain and Dakota Fanning.
