This week, Kristen Stewart shaved her head, and that’s it, that’s the news, goodbye.
JK. I mean, she did shave her head: between the special premiere of her film Personal Shopper and the premiere that night, the 26-year-old shaved her head and bleached what was left, offering only a comment by her makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey: “What a difference a day makes.”
The change is rumoured for be for a role, specifically a “suspense thrilled” called Underwater, which she recently signed on for. And she carries it off, let’s be real.
And speaking of real (segway!), Stewart opened up to the Sunday Times about her relationship with Robert Pattinson (remember?!), her current relationships and even the idea that she’d been hiding her sexuality. (Which, like, relax, everyone.)
“I wasn’t hiding anything,” she said. “I didn’t really think about my first relationships that went public because I wanted things that are mine to be mine. I hated that the details of my life were being turned into a commodity and peddled around the world. But considering I had so many eyes on me, I suddenly realized [my private life] affects a greater number of people than just me. It was an opportunity to surrender a bit of what was mine, to make even one other person feel good about themselves.”
“When I was dating Rob, the public were the enemy,” she continued. “And that is no way to live. It wasn’t this grand statement, ‘I was so confused! Now I’ve realized who I am!’ I have not been struggling.”
Also, if you actively remember the saga of Rob and Kristen, you are old like I am now and are welcome to divide up the era with a simple “before KStew” and “after KStew.” And truly, what a time it is to be alive.
