Sofia Vergara is the Highest Paid Actress on Television

Modern Family star, Sofia Vergara, is the highest paid actress on television. According to Forbes magazine, the actress made $19 million in the last year. But Vergara certainly works hard for it.

In addition to starring on Modern Family, she has appeared in three films in the last year and has several endorsement deals (in both English and Spanish). Oh, and she co-founded a media company in 1996 that probably makes her a pretty penny.

Kim Kardashian follows Vergara’s earnings from May 2011 to May 2012 with an estimated $18 million — even though she is not an actress (although, this can be up for debate). The reality star’s earnings come from a combination of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, a fragrance line and a clothing line.

To determine who the highest-paid actresses on television are, we consider upfront pay, residuals, endorsements and advertising work, Forbes reads. We talk to managers, agents, lawyers and other in-the-know folks to come up with our estimates. We do not deduct for things like agent fees or expenses related to being a celebrity.

The other top paid actresses on television are: Eva Longoria ($15 million), Bethenny Frankel ($12 million, also not really an actress), Tina Fey ($11 million), Khloe Kardashian Odom ($11 million, another reality star), Mariska Hargitay ($10 million), Zooey Deschanel ($10 million), Felicity Huffman ($9 million) and Ellen Pompeo ($9 million).
