The designer gave us a few genius fashion and beauty tips for looking our best this winter.
29Secrets: During the holiday season we have so many events to attend, but not always enough outfits to wear. What are you tips for re-inventing your look over the holidays?
Rachel Roy: I love to start with a few key basic pieces, like a slim black dress, black leather pants and a tuxedo jacket. Then you can have fun and re-invent your look with a printed blouse or embellished shoe. Everyone will focus on the pop of color and no one will notice you repeated the same pants!

29: What is one piece from your winter collection that every woman should have in her wardrobe?
RR: This is hard! One thing! Okay, if I had to choose one thing every woman should have in her wardrobe it would be a simple yet sexy cocktail dress. A great fitting dress goes a long way, and will make you feel confident when entering a boardroom or a party.
29: You always have glowing skin. What is your top winter beauty secret?
RR: Thank you! My routine is pretty simple: a good cleanser, moisturizer, drink lots of water, and SLEEP!!! It’s crazy what a power nap will do to your face. I also like to indulge in facials at the Caudalie Spa at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
