True fashion lovers know more than anyone some you do and some you don’t. Whilst some trends look fabulous on a slender 5″9 frame, they may not compliment a curvy 5″2. So how do we know what’s hot and what’s not for our body shape?
Floral Prints
Floral prints came in full force this spring and have continued through the summer. They have been used for almost anything from purses to shoes and shirts to glasses. Every fashionable shop out there is featuring floral in the masses. Luckily for us these busy prints can flatter any body shape so it’s really more about the cut of the clothing.
If you’re shorter and going for pair of floral leggings, team this with a top that just covers you bottom. Anything longer will make you look even shorter and show less of the leggings. A loose tank top will complement the leggings and make your legs look longer
One piece
This trend item is the most difficult of them all to pull off. It really does depend on the ones that are the perfect cut for your body type. Many believe that jumpsuits should be left to the slender as the industry has made them that way, but there’s a lot more choice than you may think.
If you’re petite or voluptuous and simply cannot live without an all-in-one, then opt for a version which incorporates shorts and bold prints. The full length versions are not as flattering for the latter body shape and can pinch the figure in the wrong places. Those who are slender look great in the 60’s style wide leg pant jumpsuit “ think disco fever without the sparkle.
Bustier
The summer favourite that flatters every figure! The cut and style of this top can be worn on anyone as it pinches in your waist and accentuates your hips “ which is never a bad thing! If you have a bigger bust just make sure you go for one which has a slight stretch so that you don’t have to go a few sizes up “ this would make it ill-fitting on the waist. The ˜lingerie for daywear’ trend has taken centre stage throughout shops like Topshop and Urban Outfitters so it shouldn’t be hard to find a formal or casual piece. Mixing trends, the floral bustier has been a popular buy this summer and is a must have staple for this seasons wardrobe.
Crop tops
This is a fairly obvious one. The ever so popular crop top has also come back around, however many of us would never dare. It’s true that such a trend is better suited to those with a washboard tum. But that doesn’t mean the trend is dead for the rest of us. Team your favourite crop with a tank top underneath. Try going for a crop top a few sizes too big, that way it can hang of your shoulder for a more laid back look. Tie-dye is huge this summer and looks gorgeous when you have a tan. Try a tie-dye print crop top with a white tank top underneath. Teamed with a pair of shorts this is an awesome look for beaches and festivals
