Considering her Material Girl clothing line’s been consistently flying off the racks, we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that Madonna plans to delve into another project: this time, the “lifestyle brand” Truth Or Dare.
Targeting an older audience and beginning with a fragrance, accessories are planned for release in 2012 and include shoes, handbags and underwear – which is quite the announcement following the recent news that Madge has just signed with management company, Iconix Brand Group.
Of the inking, Madonna said this: “Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand. The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality.”
(Just no purple unitards, please.)
Vogue UK has gone on to describe the label as a way to “illustrate Madonna’s look as a powerful, female icon”, targeting the 27-50 demographic, which should successfully cover the original Material Girl’s fanbase.
“We knew there would be a tremendous demand for a brand that Madonna herself is the face of, and that truly captures her essence,” Iconix told WWD.
Whether all pieces will be sold with a complimentary fake British accent is still up for debate (we can assume).
