Rihanna is getting ready to debut her clothing line for River Island at London Fashion Week. The singer has been giving fans peeks of the line here at there through photos, but everyone can see the entire line today through a live stream of the show on Facebook.
When the collaboration was first announced, the singer said a show at London Fashion Week was a ˜dream come true.’
“Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me. I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege. I can’t wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!” Rihanna said in a statement.
While the show must go on, it turns out the River Island folks are not too pleased with Rihanna’s recent behaviour. She recently posted a picture of a bouquet of marijuana on her Instagram account on Valentine’s Day, which has ruffled some feathers with the fashion execs.
“Part of the reason River Island signed her is because she’s seen as a young, independent spirit,” a source told the Mirror, “But this has given bosses a headache as they can’t be seen to be endorsing her controversial views or let them damage the brand. They’re concerned it sends out the wrong message so they want to rein her in – especially for the weekend when all eyes are on their partnership. This isn’t the sort of publicity River Island wants.”
