Now Leaving Ke$hawood

If anyone’s been keeping up-to-date on their celebrity gossip, they should be well aware of the Hollywood sign debacle that’s graced websites and television since Ke$ha hijacked the Los Angeles landmark and declared it Ke$hawood yesterday.  (Scandalous!) But alas, it was all a dream “ or a Youtube video that was doctored to make the well-orchestrated publicity stunt seem like the real-deal.

For those that haven’t seen the clip, Ke$ha and her friends drunkenly hike up to the monument, throw tarps over the letters and brand the city as the artist’s own “ making for one hell of a statement, and even more controversy.

But sadly, it was too good to be true, as a source has come forward to explain that not only would such hijinx be impossible (evidently, the sign is guarded around the clock), but the aesthetics of Ke$hawood don’t align with the landmark’s actual measurements.  (I’d go into detail, but frankly, it’s Sunday morning, and that’s no time for technicalities.)

KeShawood

So behold the (new) ultimate publicity stunt: heavily edited Youtube videos that create a buzz surrounding an artist’s latest project.  It’s almost as good as the Tom and Katie courtship circa the release of Batman in the early 2000’s.  (Wait “ that was real?)
