Well, we all heard about Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming role as infamous porn star Linda Lovelace, but I think deep down we all assumed it was an a) ugly rumour b) vicious lie or c) combination of the two. Sadly, we were mistaken, and with script details leaked, it looks as though Inferno is a definite, raunchy (and uncomfortable) go.
Now, it’s no secret that when an actor takes on a role that asks them to take risks or forever emotionally damages the audience, an Oscar is involved. But in the case of the Inferno script (which I need not recap because I value the psyche of everyone reading this), it seems the movie might go the way of Showgirls over Monster, leading to the further demise of the poor Lilo.
Controversy is one thing, but like Kelly Cutrone said on her latest visit to MTV’s The After Show, when actors are struggling with inner demons, to take on heavy roles may not be wise. (Well, she said it a lot differently “ but sometimes paraphrasing is necessary.)
Food for thought. I think we all know taking on this role was already a bad idea in general, but for someone that’s obviously struggling with every possible thing that can be struggled with, Inferno may be the new synonym for disaster.
