Helen Hunt decided to forgo the usual Oscars fashion of donning a gown by an illustrious fashion designer that would probably cost the the same amount of money as a house. This year, Hunt decided to have H&M design her Oscars dress instead.
The dress was a full-length gown in midnight blue silk satin with a short train.
It’s an honour and joy to design this gown for one of the most amazing actresses in the world, said Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design for H&M. We admire Helen Hunt and it feels fantastic to create a gown for such a memorable occasion.
Hunt also revealed on the Oscars red carpet that her dress is green and she chose it because it was the most beautiful dress I tried on and they partner with Global Green. It was a win-win-win.
The actress did however accessorize the gown with enough jewels to feed a small village. Hunt wore $700,000 worth of jewels, which provided just the right amount of sparkle for such a glamorous occasion.
Helen Hunt was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting role for The Sessions.
