The Best Red Carpet Fashion from Cannes Film Fest

The 64th annual Cannes Film Festival only started a few days ago, and already there’s plenty of red carpet eye candy, like these five leading ladies.

The first notable winner in the style department is Salma Hayek. At 44 years old, this glamorous gal looked stunning in her gray strapless beaded gown designed by Gucci Premiere.

Coming in fourth is Diane Kruger who showed up to the premiere of Sleeping Beauty wearing a form-fitting Calvin Klein Collection gown. This dress was made for her body, with its figure-flattering cut and backless design. She’s been known not to regularly use a professional stylist when choosing a gown, so all the more power to her!

Our third best dressed at Cannes so far is Uma Thurman. She wore a white strapless Versace gown, with a unique low-cut back. She made sure to show a bit of skin with a thigh-high slit and feather accents.

In second is supermodel Karolina Kurkova who attended the Midnight in Paris premiere wearing a beautiful navy blue gown by Armani Prive. Although the dress is from the 2009 Haute Couture collection, Karolina rocked the embellished one-shoulder look and became the centre of attention.

Finally, the title for the best dressed at Cannes so far goes to the always-stunning Canadian talent Rachel McAdams. Her choice of gown for the premiere of her film Midnight in Paris was definitely a risk, but one that paid off. She showed herself off in a beautiful Marchesa dress with red silk embroidery and a long side train.

With a few days under the Cannes Film Festival belt, the oohs and ahhs are sure to continue. If the rest of the red carpet appearances are anything like the last few, Cannes 2011 is surely going to be one for the history books as far as fashion is concerned.
