Contrary to her feminist anthem, girls don't run the world — and Beyonce is well aware of it.
In an essay for The Shriver Report, the singer called out sexism as well as the myth of gender equality, calling on men to "join their wives, daughters, mothers, and sisters" in demanding equal pay for women doing the same job as men.
"We need to stop buying into the myth of gender equality," she writes. "It isn't a reality yet. Today, women make up half of the US workforce, but the average working woman earns only 77 per cent of what the average working man makes. But unless women and men both say this is unacceptable, things will not change. Equality will be achieved when men and women are granted equal pay and equal respect."
HELL YES, BEYONCE.
Though Beyonce isn't the only one contributing to the Maria Shriver's initiative.
