Last month, you could say Beth Ditto started beef with Karl Lagerfeld, when in actuality, she was standing up for Adele after Karl Lagerfeld said Adele had a divine voice and a beautiful face” but “was a little too fat.” (Yikes.)
But this time, the heat is on.
According to Vulture, Beth Ditto has called Karl Lagerfeld out once again, so it seems she won’t exactly be a Chanel posterchild anytime soon.
“Now, there’s this weird thing with Karl Lagerfeld, which I literally just learned about an hour ago,” she said. “People are like, ‘So you called him old and skinny?’ And I’m like, ‘Well what is he, young and fat?’ He’s not.”
“I have no desire to say super-thin, super-perfect,” she added. (And pretty good mandate for a beauty spokesperson as well – if you don’t remember, Beth Ditto and Mac have joined forces for a beauty line.)
As for Beth Ditto’s fashion role model? “When I grow up, I want to look like Patti Smith,” she said. “That’s how I feel exactly – grow a mustache and everything, that sounds great.”
Well if there’s a woman that’s not going to call Lagerfeld “Uncle Karl” anytime soon, you can probably bet two times over that it wouldn’t be Patti Smith.
